United Methodist Women
Our Purpose
“The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a Community of women whose PURPOSE is to know god and to experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ; to develop a creative supportive fellowship; and to expand concepts of MISSION through participation in the Global ministries of the church.”
According to the Book of Discipline of the United Methodist Church, it is stated that “In every local church there shall be an organized unit of United Methodist Women”. Our local unit is directly related to the District, (Spoon River) and Conference (Illinois Great River). Membership is open to ANY and ALL Women, to any woman who indicates her desire to participate in over 100 Global Missions of the church. Two Missions that our IGRConference supports are Cunningham Children’s Home in Urbana and the Lessie Bates Davis Neighborhood House in East St. Louis. For 150 years UMW has been living Faith, Hope and Love in Action.

Mission Outreach Committee
The purpose of the mission outreach committee is to reach out into the community to help and serve those in need and to support our district and conference missions
the first Sunday of every month, the committee provides a breakfast with a free will donation to support a specified mission for each month
All year a basket is provided in the back of the church for non-perishable grocery donations; to be delivered monthly to Jamison center.
In June , because the Jamison center pantry is very low, the committee sponsors a "fill the pew" campaign for the purpose of filling a pew with non-perishable grocery items. All groceries are delivered to Jamison center for their pantry. In November, the committee provides a "Charlie Brown Tree" to collect hats, scarfs, gloves, socks and new children's books. All donations are given to Jamison center
The Outreach Committee is supported 100% by love donations and 100% of the donations go to donations.
